Help with my Pentax....
Isma, where can I find someone that is able to clean my sensor since after shooting some distant aircraft cruising high. I got a heart attack with the dust spots... Do youk now someone who can do the job, as I don't want to play aroudn and try it myself.... Ruben

Hiya. Dust is an issue for all of us using DSLR's and there is lots of info on the net. You can be brave enough and try using a blower inside the body to see if you can remove some of the dust... however be VERY careful! Also make sure that the dust IS appering in your shots and not just through the viewfinder. Sometimes you can get dust there and its not actually in the body. Also make sure there are no spots on both ends of the lens. This might be of help. It mentions Canon and Nikons but at least a bit of info and the principle is the same. http://photo.net/equipment/digital/sensorcleaning/ Let us know how you get on! Aaron

Aaron, Thanks for the link... I'm going to the Penatx agent to do it himself.... And the dust is o nthe sensor, 'cause when I take photo 4 'stains appear in the photos... Time for the Wet and Dry method... Ruben

Ah so they are certainly on the censor. Hopefully it wont cost you too much and you'll get it sorted! I know hoe annoying it can be. I've got lots of bits in my viewfinder but as far as I can see they do not appear in my images. Well, jp's havnt shouted at me yet anyway!! hehe

Yeh, I cleaned it and they are out... Except 1 which is a strange situation.... I took the cam back to the agent where he cleaned it and he scanned the sensor 3 times, blasted it again and did the process again... The spot still remained there.... Now he told me that ti will fade and he will able to remove it... Can anyone of you confirm if this is true? Ruben

Glad you have got half way there! In regards to a spot fading in time, I havn't heard of this, but that doesnt mean its not true. See how it goes, and if it still prevails then go back and ask him to do it again, or go to another shop/lab for a second opinion :-)

Time for a Pentax K10 or a 400D :p (Birthday is coming nearer!) Now I'm hoping for it to fade out.... and if it doesn't I'll get mad at it.... Ruben

hehe well I know what you mean. To be honest, if they are not causing big problems in your shots, or are easily removed in ps (note "easily") then you shouldnt worry too much.. try not to get too mad!! but let us know how you get on :D

RubenZammit- 01-19-2007

Yeh sure, The spot isn't bothering me to much so tis easy to cancel them out with PS (or as I sometimes do Microsoft Paint!) I'll keep you informed... Ruben
