Malta Aero GP
AOPA announced that Mid September Malta will be hosting the AERO GP. This will be a new attraction to the Maltese Island and for sure this event will be something different to look forward to. Aircraft will be all piston driven but I'm sure that they are high performance aircraft. Its looking to be an interesting September. I'll better prepare my leave days :lol: :lol:

Aircraft seem to be Extra 300s, Mudrys, CAPs and those unbelievable Sukhois. Doesn't seem to be any Pitts Special though... :( Is there any link to some website with the dates? I'm not sure this will co-incide with the airshow... Better start saving for that 50-500!!

Sunday 10th September sounded as the ideal date with trail runs Friday 8th & Saturday 9th Septembter. As far as i know this has nothing to do with the Airshow and the action will be over the sea. Location still unknown

1st Aero GP Grand Prix of Malta For the first time in Malta we are going to have the Aero GP Grand Prix of Malta to be staged over Marsamxett Port on Friday the 10th September 2006. Planning is going very well and the organisers are awaiting final approvals from the DCA and MMA. MIA will position the aircraft on Park no. 3. This is a very spetacular event as there will be quite some daring aerobatic and air crosses over the sea.

Hi All, some friends and family are always asking me when this Aero GP will take place and I have no idea as it does not really interest me (sorry, just a bunch o fharmless aircraft to me !). Trouble is, because I am into aeroplanes. THEY DON'T BELEIVE ME when I tell them that I don't know !! Is anyone sure of the dates so I may tell them ? I heared something about 8,9,10 Sept, and I also see Charles' suggestion about the Grand Harbour, but Charles you are forgetting the Regatta on the 8th Sept in Grand Harbour ! which we (Valletta) "should" win for THE FIRST TIME !! ha ha ....into boat racing too !!?? not really ....but anything VALLETTA !! (ahna tal - Belt kollha hekk !!)

It is happening outside Grand Harbour, more on the Marsamxett side. Confirmed. I've seen the route.
