The AERO GP 2006 AIR RACES will be held in Malta over Marsamxett Harbour between Thursday 7th September and Sunday 10th September 2006 between 1100hours and 1700hours. Training events will be held between Thursday 7th September 2006 and Friday 8th September 2006, with the qualifying events to be held on Saturday 9th September 2006. The official competition events will be held on Sunday 10th September 2006. The Air Races will be held inside an area indicated by imaginary lines joining the following positions and intermediate coastline: A - St. Elmo Breakwater B - Buoy 1 C - Buoy 2 D - Tigne Coast. E - Tigne Coast. F - Manoel Island Coast. G - Manoel Island Coast. H - Valletta Coast.

Charles you are forgetting the Regatta on the 8th Sept in Grand Harbour But I thought there was an arrangement for the planes to tow the Valletta boats ... which is why the Valletta camp is so confident about winning :wink:

Guys, the "SUBMARINE" is the prop used for the film U-571. It will be moored near Manoel Island and will be the "target" for the precision bombing competition.

Just returned from some deliveries through Sliema, Gzira and Msida.... No Aircraft regarding the AERO GP are curently flying. IAN

At least 4 aircraft of AERO GP are flying over Marsamxett right now. They seem to be doing some familliarisation flights since they are flying vry slow, high (1500ft at least) and in circles... IAN

ha ha... Charles I had not come across your suggestion of aero gp planes towing our race boats because bhal wiehed iccassat I did not see the page 2 of this subject ! No !! we are more refined than that !! we are having the U571 tow our boats from below the surface !! shhhh !! its a secret !!

Can somebody please confirm the call sign? Is it "gp 1 formation" cause yesterday I went to my grandma's house and took the VHF radio with me and I touth it was them!!
