Opinion on rejections
Your honest opinion in these rejections please : http://www.jetphotos.net/viewreject_b.php?id=1979229 http://www.jetphotos.net/viewreject_b.php?id=1979167

The first one is a bit undersharpened especially the elevators. Regarding the second one I cannot find any reason for rejection

MarkZerafaGilson- 06-24-2008

I also suffered a cruel rejection... http://www.jetphotos.net/viewreject_b.php?id=1979250 what do you guys think?

JasonXuereb- 06-24-2008

Mark, indeed my opinion is like the jetphotos' one. it is undersharpened and also underexposed

Not an expert at such matters however might be wrong in what I say but people are asking for other peoples thoughts so here goes for my five cents. Photograph by Alan Cordina – had your photograph on line all day because after seeing some of the photos from RIAT 2007 thought this was a tremendous photo. Surely these people should be thinking how many times this will be viewed. Alan yours by me will be viewed regularly. Only thing I can see why they might have rejected and this is through no fault of yours is that number 2 obscures a bit of number 4. Photograph by Mark Gilson – because of the closeness of the Hind obviously got to lose some of the rotors. You can see its bad light by the aircraft light but the type of photo I like as it’s awesome.

At Pratica you shoot against the sun all the time. But a Hind silhouette is even more sinister... especially from this angle... even Rambo would shiver

At Pratica you shoot against the sun all the time. uuhhh !!! so this explains why in 16 pages of Pratica Di Mare photos on jp.net I counted ONLY 16 aeriel photos !!!!????? plus 3 others totally disaster backlit ones !!! all others static !! .... Made in Italy !!!! ....... Good tip to know this for any future visit ...... I would still enjoy it .... but I will be lighter, reverting to only my beloved binoculars if the camera is useless !

I was involved in the screening of Alan's first one and also Marks Hind shot. Alan. Did you read the screeners notes in the reject email and the appeal email ? I commented that you needed special scheme and the senior who reviewed the appeal said this..."The photo is soft, but you should check the Special Scheme category as well." I used to miss the screener comments when I got rejections. You only see the rejection and don't see the comments below so I understand what happens sometimes. All I can say is, when you get a reject please read the whole email as there is often some useful info there. Mark. I made the dark/under and soft decision. Before I did that I opened your Hind pic in Photoshop and it is a recoverable image. Try to put some life into the shadows, there is detail there to work on, and brighten it up a bit.

http://www.jetphotos.net/viewphoto.php?id=6335933&nseq=21 gave it another shot !! and its in. No longer blurred..... not that I could ever see any blurriness in the photo anyway.
