Hi I'm a beginner to scale modelling and at the moment I'm reading every article that I come accross about scale modelling and every one gives you different versions of the same technique. Can anyone tell me which is the best technique in order to highlight the panel lines?

In my younger days I used to use a very sharpened pencil to mark the panel lines.
Later on, I preferred to smooth them out, engrave them with a scalpel, refine the contours with filler and re-engrave again.
Obviously Alain or Mario will have much better ideas in this regard.

Actually, that explains the 3 x Spitfires, Mustang, Beaufighter, Noratlas and Liberator still at various stages in my workshop... looks more like Davis Monthan!

Let the pro tell you how....
Get black paint and mix it with thinner so that your solutions comes rather watery....dip a brush in this solution, not too much though, and put the brush on the panels line and the black solution will flow into the panel lines :) with a tissue soak up any exess paint solu.
U dont necesarrily hav to use black paint...
