What's wrong with it ? seems pretty level to me :?

Then I must be going crazy !!
(if I try to upload a photo like that I can instantly think of about SEVEN rejection reasons ..... 3 of them would be about quality). is my monitor maybe going crazy ?? (its quite new !)

Alan
Thanks for your short but honest analysis of my B-1 photo. I have joined the forum so I could ask what it is about this shot that particularly upset you and why this one was singled out of the many uploaded to A.net?
I'm not suggesting it's the best photo in the world (or on A.net) but it's probably not the worst either.
Also where do you take your references from to dispute the level of the photo. As there were no defined horizontals, I went for verticals and felt it was pretty close to level.
All the best
Ian

Guys, I guess that maybe in January we should hold a little workshop on how to get our photos to upload standards.
............also....... after deliberating with my inner self whether I should do this or not ...... I decided that I can, because now we have briefly communicated with each other and left complimentary messages to each others' photos. I am referring to a Maltese guy Gordon Zammit, who I don't know personally (but would like to) who lately has shot some really nice, cool photos which I really like and I left comments on, but way back in 2006 (last year's airshow) there was this photo accepted :
http://www.airliners.net/open.file?id=1119796
and I had this rejected
http://www.jetphotos.net/viewphoto.php?id=5826057&nseq=0
and this accepted
http://www.airliners.net/open.file?id=1119794
and I had this rejected
http://www.jetphotos.net/viewphoto.php?id=5825622&nseq=2
I am sure Gordon has his own judgement for this too : http://www.airliners.net/open.file?id=1119795
I am also sure that Gordon will fully understand what I am trying to illustrate, and that now I really like his photos, but instances like these really piss me off !

Ian, welcome on board, first of all! Don't take it personally, but put yourselves in our shoes.... we spend more than a month's salary to get to RIAT, pay four months' salary to get a good piece of Canon kit (in Alan's case that is... poor guy, he hasn't seen the Nikonian light yet..)
Then we neglect our wives for three nights to Photoshop the pics for a.net. Then we get rejections. To add insult on injuryt, we then find photos of similar quality to the ones we had rejected!
So please put any comments in this perspective - no personal offence!

And just what is it that we gain from getting photos accepted on a.net and jetphotos? That is a question which I am increasingly asking myself ... and increasingly I am looking for more rewarding alternatives.

Hi Guys
Firstly Alan I understand your frustration with A.net, let me assure you I am in the same boat and have had many rejections in the couple of years I've been uploading.
Secondly I am not a paid up member of A.net, so, if members do get more photo's accepted (I'd like to think this isn't true) then I am not one of them.
I don't generally upload to other sites (not a big fan of Jetphoto's as a site) so I've adapted in some ways to the A.net style and try to only select what I think, or hope, they'll accept. I have many other pictures that I think "should" be accepted but I just don't risk the likely rejection.
I appreciate you guy's put in the effort to come to RIAT (luckily for me I only live 1 hour drive away) and it is disappointing after all the effort to get rejections where others have succeeded but it happens to us all. One of the UK forums I post on have this debate regularly, I guess there'll always be an issue where the decision, or some of it, is down to a screener's personal opinion.
Nevertheless, I've seen many of your pictures from all your trips to Fairford and recognise many names from looking at the Malta shot's which is partly why I joined the forum and posted my original message. I see there's some top quality photgraphers here.
I didn't take it too personally but also didn't think my shot was crap (maybe not perfect, but hopefully not crap  )
Anyway good luck with A.net and hope to see some of you at RIAT 08. Maybe I'll stick around on the forum, never hurts to converse with a few new people. One day I might even come to the Malta show, its always viewed with interest in the UK but not too many people make the trip.
Greetings from England
Ian

Ermmm...
Poor Charles, he has to support both sides as he is wearing those red face strips (presumably forced by Alan to wear them) and that green suit!
You'd better not go Charles.....
