Do not dip the canopy in future before you sand and polish it first!! Sand it with wet & dry (using water) up to the finest grit available (2000 is readily available) and polish it with car poilsh. Then clean it VERY well, and dip in Future. It's better to drain the excess off as much as you can, and don't put on tissues as it will get stuck. Cardboard will soak any excess, and will be easily removed from the canopy.
To make a canopy, you need to use the kit one as a master, make a piece of wood say 6-10mm thick through which the canopy passes with around 3-4mm clear all round. The transparent rigid plastic from packing (such as small computer accessories packing) can be used. Heat it above boiling water to soften it, and then force it through the hole in the wood with the kit canopy, which has to be fixed to a piece of sprue or wooden stick and preferably filled with milliput on the inside to reinfore it.
If I'm not clear enough let me know! I hope this helps. Canopies dipped in future require a few days before masking. |

Ive just dipped my scratched eye-goggles in Klear and it works!

| Ammonia is said to be best, but Klear itself redissolves any build ups. I Haven't tried yet cleaning a really big mess, as I've only been using future for the past months. I did use it on the Hobbyboss Hind canopy which has a seam line running along the middle, and it did work as they say. However I masked it with Tamiya tape 2 days after, and when I removed the tape it left marks, which I think were caused by the Klear not curing for long enough. Next time I'll wait for a week until I mask. If you PM me I will send you some pics Adrian. |

Antoine, about the silver problems you had, this is what i did..
Sprayed silver. the silver on the back tail was useless since i sprayed over it..
I masked the Silver on the front wing and pods before painting.
Then taped up the tail after painting. Which took quite long to get exact!

Thanks Adrian! They're very helpful! I'm amazed by how much you are steady with the airbrush. Your panel lines preshading are perfect lines and they come out very nice! When I tried to make them I've found it very difficult to spray straight lines and they come out very grainy! _________________ My photos!

Well my preshading was all useless because i sprayed on too much blue and they disappeared (being a first timer too)!!
All what you have to do is firstly SIT DOWN when doing them do not stand and keep very close to the model. and rest your hand on the work bench. they do not have to come straight! straight or bent doesnt make a difference. its coming grainy becasue its not thinned enough!
I did the weathered paint, my own way, like this- After spraying the blue i added white to the blue and sprayed the panels only, not panel lines. Then i sprayed the original blue mix on the panel lines. _________________ www.britmodeller.com

Antoine, i bought it under the name Klear, not Future (same thing). The guy i bought them from had 2 left, which i both bought! Just go on ebay and type 'Klear' & you'll find a few for sale.
If not ill bring it to the club and you can dip yor canopy there.. _________________ www.britmodeller.com
